Recent Firestone research, based on over 9 million visits at Firestone locations, revealed that 42% of cars had underinflated tires. At Adams Tireworx we recommend regular tire checks – both to check for uneven tire wear, and also for tire under-inflation. Tire under inflation is a problem that costs motorists over 18 billion dollars in additional fuel costs a year – every year. And this is not taking into account the cost of premature tire replacement due to accelerated tire wear, higher probability of blowouts, and additional cost of suspension work. One would think that modern sensors would warn you if the tires are underinflated, but in reality, the sensors only warn after a certain threshold is reached.
